α-Mannosidase Assay Kit

Cat.No. : Kit-2079
Product Overview : The nonradioactive, colorimetric AMA assay is based on the cleavage of 4- nitrophenol from the synthetic substrate. Nitrophenol becomes intensely colored after addition of the stop reagent. The increase in absorbance at 405 nm after addition of the stop reagent is directly proportional to the enzyme activity.

Ask a question
How does AMA participate in the regulation of mitochondrial calcium homeostasis, and what are the downstream effects of its modulation on cellular signaling pathways? 06/28/2022

AMA contributes to the regulation of mitochondrial calcium homeostasis, affecting cellular signaling pathways involved in calcium-dependent processes, such as apoptosis, metabolism, or mitochondrial permeability transition.

What are the physiological or pathological contexts in which AMA expression or activity is regulated, and what are the underlying molecular mechanisms governing its transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulation? 05/24/2022

The expression or activity of AMA can be regulated in response to physiological cues, such as nutrient availability, energy status, or oxidative stress. The transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulation of AMA involves transcription factors, microRNAs, or epigenetic modifications.

What are the post-translational modifications of AMA, and how do they influence its stability, activity, or protein-protein interactions? 05/20/2022

AMA can undergo phosphorylation, acetylation, or ubiquitination, which may affect its stability, subcellular localization, or interactions with other mitochondrial proteins.

What are the interacting partners of AMA, and how do these interactions contribute to its cellular functions? 11/24/2021

AMA interacts with various mitochondrial proteins, such as components of the mitochondrial respiratory chain, mitochondrial transporters, or proteins involved in mitochondrial quality control and dynamics.

What is the subcellular localization of the AMA protein, and does it undergo any dynamic changes in response to specific cellular cues or stimuli? 07/12/2021

The AMA protein localizes to the mitochondria, specifically to the inner mitochondrial membrane or the intermembrane space. Its localization may be dynamic and responsive to cellular signals or stress conditions.

What are the downstream signaling pathways or cellular processes regulated by AMA, and how do they impact cellular metabolism, oxidative stress response, or cell survival? 12/28/2020

AMA regulates cellular metabolism, oxidative stress response, and cell survival through its influence on mitochondrial function, energy production, reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, or apoptotic signaling pathways.

How does AMA participate in mitochondrial biogenesis, and what are the molecular mechanisms underlying its role in regulating mitochondrial dynamics and function? 10/06/2019

AMA plays a role in mitochondrial biogenesis by regulating mitochondrial DNA replication, transcription, or protein synthesis. It also contributes to the maintenance of mitochondrial fusion-fission dynamics.

What are the disease-relevant implications of AMA dysfunction, and can it serve as a diagnostic or prognostic marker for certain mitochondrial disorders or other pathological conditions? 08/26/2019

Dysregulation or mutations in AMA have been associated with mitochondrial disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, or metabolic disorders. Its altered expression or activity may serve as a diagnostic or prognostic marker in these conditions.

Can AMA be targeted pharmacologically to modulate mitochondrial function, and what are the potential therapeutic implications of such modulation? 08/19/2018

Pharmacological modulation of AMA could potentially impact mitochondrial function and may have therapeutic implications for mitochondrial diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, or metabolic disorders.

How does AMA contribute to the maintenance of mitochondrial DNA integrity, and what are the consequences of its dysfunction on mtDNA replication, repair, or stability? 04/14/2018

AMA is involved in the maintenance of mitochondrial DNA integrity by participating in mtDNA replication, repair, and protection against damage caused by oxidative stress or genotoxic agents.
