Protein NT3 Was Attached Importance in Hearing Restoration

The arising moderation indeed brought us with numerous advantages and convenience, however, in the meantime, we have to take what we have done. We can never see a pure blue sky with white clouds, we can hardly live in peace, all our life has been disturbed. Take the car as an example, it gives us choices to go where we want at any time. On the other hand, however, the exhausted gas and the noise that the horn make, there are really annoying. A long time exposure to this loud-noise-brimmed environment would lead to hearing loss. And the harm of this is really beyond explanation.

So how to solve the hearing loss caused by noise and normal aging? Scientists all over the world have done pains taking work to figure this out. A recent study seems to give new hope to this.

Scientists in this study began 15 years ago and it’s just in recent time that they finally got some important ideas. By applying a special technique, the scientists were able to make it possible for some mice to produce additional NT3 in cells of specific areas of the inner ear after they were exposed to noise that is loud enough to reduce their hearing. Excitingly, mice that has extra NT3 regained their hearings about two weeks later, and they can hear much better than those mice that didn’t have extra NT3.

“Since this worked out in mice, the next step of our team is to try this in human ears, and in the end find effective drug as NT3 does. So, for us, there’s still a lot of work to do, but we hope it won’t be long.” said the chief scientists staff in this study.
