Serpini1 isassociated with Familial encephalopathy with neuroserpin inclusion bodies.Serine protease inhibitors of the serpin superfamily are involved in manycellular processes. Serpini1 was first identified as a protein secreted fromthe axons of dorsal root ganglion neurons. It is expressed in the late stagesof neurogenesis during the process of synapse formation.
