Description : | The FAS is a deathreceptor on the surface of cells that leads to programmed cell death(apoptosis). It is one of two apoptosis pathways, the other being themitochondrial pathway. FasR is located on chromosome 10 in humans and 19 inmice. Similar sequences related by evolution are found in most mammals. |
Source : | E. coli |
Species : | Human |
Form : | Lyophilized withoutadditives. |
Molecular Weight : | 17.6 kDa |
Endotoxin Level : | <0.1 ng/pg of FASreceptor |
Purity : | >95% asdetermined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. |
Biological Activity : | Determined by itsability to inhibit the cytotoxicity of Jurkat cells. The EDSO is between10-15 pg/ml in the presence of 2 ng/ml of human Fast. |
Reconstitution : | Centrifuge vialprior to opening. First add sterile distilled water to the vial to fullysolubilize the protein to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/ml. After completesolubilization of the protein, it can be further diluted to other aqueoussolutions. |
Storage : | Lyophilized proteinis stable for 2 years at -20°C. Reconstituted protein is stable for 1 week at2-4°C or for 3 months in working aliquots with a carrier protein (0.1%HSA orBSA) at -20°C. Please note that the addition of any carrier protein into thisproduct may produce unwanted endotoxin. This depends upon the particularapplication employed. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

Q&As (6)
Ask a questionFAS protein plays an important role in cell signaling, it can activate downstream signaling pathways, such as death signaling pathway and survival signaling pathway, by binding to its ligand and transmitting signals.
It can provide a reference for clinical practice and guide the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases by detecting the expression level of FAS protein and understanding its mechanism of action.
FAS protein-related diseases can be prevented and treated by regulating the expression level of FAS protein and inhibiting its signaling pathway.
Gene knockout or knockdown techniques can be used to study the function and mechanism of action of FAS proteins. By knocking out or knocking down the FAS gene, changes in processes such as apoptosis and immune response can be observed to further understand its function and mechanism of action.
FAS protein can bind to its ligand, activate the death signaling pathway, and induce apoptosis.
The expression level and activity of FAS protein can be measured to predict the prognosis and development trend of certain diseases.
