Cat. No.

AMY2-5364P

Product Overview

Native pig AMY2 was expressed in Pig pancreas.

Description

AMY2 are secreted proteins thathydrolyze 1,4-alpha-glucoside bonds in oligosaccharides and polysaccharides, and thus catalyze the first step in digestion of dietary starch and glycogen. The human genome has a cluster of several amylase genes that are expressed athigh levels in either salivary gland or pancreas. This gene encodes anamylase isoenzyme produced by the pancreas.

Form

Lyophilized from 150mM NaCl +3 mM CaCl.

Source

Pig pancreas

Molecular Weight

54 kDa

Specific Activity

Typically>100units/mg at 37oC. One unit will catalyze thehydrolysis of 1 uM of maltopentaose, which through coupled reactions resultsin the formation of 5 uM of glucose-6-phosphate per minute at 37oC.Measured at 340 nm as an equimolar amount of NADH produced by a coupledreaction.

Concentration

Typically >0.5mg/ml

Storage

Product is stablefor 2 years when stored at -20oC.
