Cat. No. : Cadm1-5604M
Description : Cadm1 is a 75 kDaimmunoglobulin superfamily protein that mediates calcium-independent adhesiveinteractions, either homophilic or heterophilic with CRTAM (classI-restricted T cell-associated molecule), Necl1 (SynCAM3) or Nectin3.Alternate names for Cadm1 reflect its activities. As Cadm1, it isdownregulated in onsmall cell lung cancer. This may allow evasion ofantitumor responses, since Cadm1 interaction with CRTAM on activated NK andCD8+ T cells stimulates cytotoxicity and upregulates IFN-γ production.
Source : Mammalian cells
Form : Lyophilized from a0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS.
N-terminalSequence : Ile42

Ask a question
How do genetic variations or mutations in the CADM1 gene affect its function, and what are the medical implications of these variations in diseases such as autism spectrum disorders and cancer? 01/31/2022

Mutations or genetic variations in CADM1 can lead to altered protein function, potentially contributing to the development of diseases like autism spectrum disorders and various cancers. Studying these variations helps uncover their specific roles in disease progression.

What is the role of CADM1 in cell adhesion, and how does it contribute to cellular processes in various tissues? 10/01/2021

CADM1 is a cell adhesion molecule that plays a crucial role in maintaining tissue integrity and mediating cell-cell adhesion. It is involved in various cellular processes, including tissue development, immune response, and neural cell connectivity.

Can you discuss the post-translational modifications of CADM1 and their relevance in cell signaling pathways and disease contexts? 05/08/2021

Post-translational modifications of CADM1, such as phosphorylation and glycosylation, play critical roles in modulating its interactions and functions. Understanding these modifications is important for unraveling disease mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets.

How does CADM1 contribute to the regulation of immune responses, particularly in the context of autoimmune diseases and immune cell interactions? 10/10/2019

CADM1 mediates immune cell interactions and regulates immune responses. Dysregulation of CADM1 has been implicated in autoimmune diseases like multiple sclerosis, where it affects immune cell adhesion and migration.

What are the current therapeutic approaches targeting CADM1 in cancer treatment, and what challenges exist in developing CADM1-specific therapies for clinical use? 02/14/2018

Therapeutic strategies targeting CADM1 in cancer treatment include antibody-based therapies and small molecule inhibitors. Challenges include ensuring specificity and minimizing potential side effects, given the diverse roles of CADM1 in different tissues.
