Antigen Description : | Insulin-like growth factor-binding proteins (IGFBPs) prolong the half-life of the IGFs , control bioavailability, activity, and distribution of insulin-like growth factor (IGF) through high-affinity IGFBP/IGF complexes. Six high-affinity IGF-binding proteins (IGFBP-1 to -6) have been identified. Human IGFBP3 is a widely expressed protein containing an IGFBP domain at the N-terminus and a thyroglobulin type-I domain. IGFBP3 forms a ternary complex of about 140 ~150 kDa with IGF1 or IGF2 and a glycoprotein insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (ALS), thus alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors. IGFBP3 exerts either proapoptotic or growth stimulatory effects depending upon the cellular context. Studies have shown that IGFBP3 can leads to the induction of apoptosis dependent or independent of the IGF-IGF receptor axis, accordingly acts as a negative regulator of tumorigenesis and progressing in certain carcinomas. In addition, IGFBP3 also interacts with the Alzheimers survival peptide humanin (HN), playing a role in neurological disease processes. |
Specificity : | Human IGFBP3. No cross-reactivity with human cell lysate ( 293 cell line ) in WB and ELISA. |
Immunogen : | Recombinant Human IGFBP3 Protein |
Host : | Rabbit |

Dilution : | Western blot: This antibody can be used at 1-2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human IGFBP3 in WB. Using a DAB detection system, the detection limit for Human IGFBP3 is approximately 1 ng/lane under non-reducing conditions. Use of this antibody under reducing conditions is not recommended.Direct ELISA: This antibody can be used at 0.1-0.2 μg/mL with the appropriate secondary reagents to detect Human IGFBP3. The detection limit for Human IGFBP3 is approximately 0.00245 ng/well. |
Preparation : | This antibody was obtained from a rabbit immunized with purified, human cell-derived, recombinant Human IGFBP3 (rh IGFBP3; Gly28 - Lys 291; NP_000589.2) |
Format : | 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS with 5% trehalose |
Storage : | This antibody can be stored at 2-8 °C for one month without detectable loss of activity. Antibody products are stable for twelve months from date of receipt when stored at -20 to -70 °C. Preservative-Free.Sodium azide is recommended to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%-0.1%). It is toxic to cells and should be disposed of properly. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionYes, genetic variations can affect IGFBP3 expression, potentially leading to differences in protein levels among individuals.
IGFBP3 is involved in bone metabolism and is associated with bone mineral density. Low levels of IGFBP3 have been linked to decreased bone density and increased risk of fractures.
The potential side effects of therapies targeting IGFBP3 are still being studied, and it varies depending on the specific treatment approach being used.
Healthy lifestyle choices, including a balanced diet and regular exercise, can positively influence IGFBP3 levels, promoting overall health and reducing the risk of related diseases.
IGFBP3 deficiency can impact children's growth and development, potentially leading to short stature and delayed puberty, as IGFBP3 is a key regulator of growth hormone actions.
Customer Reviews (3)
Write a reviewA manufacturer that offers customization options can enable the researcher to adhere to their experimental design requirements more effectively.
A reliable manufacturer should be able to provide a consistently pure and high-quality IGFBP3 protein, ensuring that the samples are suitable for research purposes.
This can help ensure compatibility between different components used in the trials and ease the overall experimental workflow.
