Cat. No. : OXT-313H
Description : Human Oxytocin stimulates uterine smooth muscle contractions indirectly and stimulates the mammary glands to increase lactation without increasing the production of milk.
Source : Human
Form : The Oxytocin was lyophilized from a concentrated (1 mg/ml) solution with no additives.
Purity : Greater than 98.0% as determined by RP-HPLC.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered White lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder.
Solubility : It is recommended to reconstitute the lyophilized Oxytocin in sterile 18Mμ-cm H2O not less than 100 µg/ml, which can then be further diluted to other aqueous solutions.
Amino acid sequence : Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2.
Storage : Lyophilized Oxytocin although stable at room temperature for 3 weeks, should be stored desiccated below -18°C. Upon reconstitution Neurophysin 1 should be stored at 4°C between 2-7 days and for future use below -18°C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles.
Pathways : Class A/1 (Rhodopsin-like receptors); G alpha (q) signalling events; GPCR downstream signaling; GPCR ligand binding; Myometrial Relaxation and Contraction Pathways; Peptide ligand-binding receptors; Signaling by GPCR; Vasopressin-like receptors
