Description : NRG4 belongs to the neuregulin family and contains 1 EGF-like domain. The protein is low affinity ligand for the ERBB4 tyrosine kinase receptor. It concomitantly recruits ERBB1 and ERBB2 coreceptors, resulting in ligand-stimulated tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of the ERBB receptors. NRG4 does not bind to the ERBB1, ERBB2 and ERBB3 receptors.

Ask a question
How can the function of NRG4 be studied by overexpression techniques? 12/08/2022

The function of NRG4 can be studied through overexpression techniques, such as the use of gene transfection or viral transduction. These techniques can increase the expression level of NRG4 to observe its effects on cell growth, differentiation, and survival, among other things.

What is the role of NRG4 in tissues such as the heart, nerves, and muscles? 12/03/2021

It has a variety of roles in tissues such as the heart, nerves, and muscles, including promoting cell growth, differentiation, and survival, as well as regulating synaptic plasticity and nerve signaling.

What is the physiological function of NRG4 in the heart? 11/09/2021

In the heart, NRG4 can promote cardiomyocyte growth and survival, maintain cardiomyocyte electrophysiological properties, and regulate cardiac rhythms.

How can I measure the expression level of NRG4 in tissues and cells? 07/07/2021

Immunohistochemistry, western blotting, and real-time PCR can be used to detect NRG4 expression levels in tissues and cells. These techniques can be used to assess NRG4 expression in different tissues and cells.

How does NRG4 interact with target cell surface receptors? 10/13/2020

NRG4 activates receptor phosphorylation by interacting with its receptors ErbB3 and ErbB4, which in turn triggers intracellular signaling pathways.

Is there a regulatory role for the interaction between NRG4 and other proteins? 01/26/2020

The interaction between NRG4 and other proteins is regulated by a variety of mechanisms, including through the formation of complexes, through interaction motifs at the interface of protein interactions, and by regulating conformational changes of proteins. These interactions can be modulated to achieve specific physiological functions.
