Description : | Like that of human insulin, it is the principal hormone responsible for regulating the cellular uptake and storage of glucose. Bovine insulin also plays an important role in metabolism of amino acids and fatty acids, while effectively inhibiting the degradation of glycogen protein and fat. Due to these characteristics, it is commonly used as a growth factor in many mammalian cell culture systems. |
