Description : | The fos-related antigen 1 (Fra-1, or FosL1: Fos-like antigen 1) is a member of the Fos onco-protein family and a component of AP-1 transcription factor. Similar to other members of the family, Fra-1 contains a leucine zipper domain and a highly conserved C-terminal region. Transcription of Fra-1 gene is regulated by multiple cis-elements and 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate (TPA). Fra-1 expression is associated with proliferation and invasiveness of breast cancer cells and other cancer cells. |

Q&As (5)
Ask a questionYes, preclinical studies and early-phase clinical trials are exploring the potential synergistic effects of combining FOSL1 inhibitors with other targeted therapies to enhance treatment efficacy.
High expression levels of FOSL1 have been associated with poor prognosis and shorter overall survival in various cancer patients.
FOSL1 regulates the tumor microenvironment by promoting angiogenesis, immune evasion, and metastasis, thus contributing to cancer progression and spread.
Although the specific side effects may vary, common adverse effects of FOSL1-targeted therapies may include gastrointestinal disturbances, fatigue, and immunological reactions.
Dysregulated FOSL1 expression can disrupt cellular homeostasis, leading to uncontrolled cell proliferation, evasion of cell death, and genomic instability, all of which contribute to tumorigenesis.
