Cat. No. : LIF-378H
Description : Leukemia inhibitory factor, or LIF, an interleukin 6 class cytokine, is a protein in cells that affects cell growth and development.LIF derives its name from its ability to induce the terminal differentiation of myeloid leukaemic cells.
Source : Human 293 cells.
Purity : Greater than 95%, as determined by SDS-PAGE and visualized by Coomassie blue stain.
Endotoxin Levels : 0.11 EU/μg as determined by LAL assay (<1 EU/μg).
Activity : The ED50 is 1.1 ng/mL as measured in a cell proliferation assay using the human growth factor- dependent TF-1 cell line.
Molecular Mass : Migrates as a broad band between 43 and 48 kDa on SDS-PAGE due to post-translational modifications, in particular glycosylation. This compares with unmodified LIF polypeptide that has a predicted monomeric molecular mass of 19.7 kDa.
Pl : Separates into a number of glycoforms with a pI between 5.8 and 9.9 on 2D PAGE due to post-translational modifications, in particular glycosylation. This compares with the unmodified LIF that has a predicted pI of 9.28.
% Carbohydrate : Consists of 40-50% carbohydrate by weight.
Glycosylation : Contains N- and O-linked oligosaccharides.
Formulation : Lyophilized protein. Once reconstituted in 0.5 mL sterile phosphate-buffered saline, the solution will contain 1% human serum albumin (HSA) and 10% trehalose.
Storage : Lyophilized products should be stored at 2 to 8°C. To reconstitute, add 0.5 mL of sterile phosphate buffered saline to the vial. Following reconstitution, short-term storage at 4°C is recommended. For longer-term storage, store aliquots at -20°C Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Pathways : Cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction, Jak-STAT signaling pathway
Gene Name : LIF leukemia inhibitory factor (cholinergic differentiation factor) [ Homo sapiens ]
Synonyms : CDF; D-FACTOR; Emfilermin; HILDA; MLPLI; D factor; Differentiation- stimulating factor; Leukemia inhibitory factor precursor; Melanoma-derived LPL inhibitor; Cholinergic differentiation factor; LIF; leukemia inhibitory factor (cholinergic differentiation factor)
Gene ID : 3976
mRNA Refseq : NM_002309
Protein Refseq : NP_002300
MIM : 159540
UniProt ID : P15018
Chromosome Location : 22q12.2
Function : Cytokine activity, Growth factor activity, Leukemia inhibitory factor receptor binding, Oncostatin-M receptor binding
