Cat. No. : AMD1-577H.
Description : AMD1 catalyzes the removal of the carboxylate group of S-adenosylmethionine in the polyamine biosynthesis pathway. Adenosylmethionine decarboxylase is an enzyme which catalyzes the conversion of S-Adenosyl methionineto S-adenosyl-5"-3-methylpropylamine. This gene encodes an important intermediate enzyme in polyamine biosynthesis. The polyamines spermine, spermidine, and putrescine are low-molecular-weight aliphatic amines essential for cellular proliferation and tumor promotion. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants that encode different proteins have been identified.
Source : E. coli.
Purity : Greater than 95.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Physical Appearance : Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Formulation : AdoMetDC at 0.1mg/ml, 10mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.1% Triton X-100 and 0.002% NaN3.
