Description : | Transmembrane glycoprotein NMB (GPNMB) is also known as Transmembrane glycoprotein HGFIN, DC-HIL and Osteoactivin (OA), which belongs to the PMEL/NMB family. GPNMB contains one PKD domain. GPNMB is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is up-regulated in various cancer cells, including in glioblastoma multiforme and is expressed in many melanoma cells, as well as in tissue macrophages. GPNMB protein acts as a downstream mediator of BMP-2 effects on osteoblast differentiation and function. GPNMB participates in bone mineralization, and functions as a negative regulator of inflammation in macrophages. |

Q&As (6)
Ask a questionIn the experiment, the GPNMB gene can be introduced into the expression vector by gene cloning technology, and then the GPNMB recombinant protein can be expressed in Escherichia coli or eukaryotic cells.
Animal models carrying human mutant genes can be constructed using transgenic or gene editing technology to study the role and disease mechanism of GPNMB recombinant protein in vivo. These animal models can be used to study the effects of GPNMB recombinant proteins on tumor growth, metastasis, and drug resistance.
The current treatments for GPNMB recombinant protein mainly include gene therapy, protein replacement therapy, and drug therapy for cell surface receptors and signal transduction processes.
By detecting the expression level and modification status of GPNMB recombinant protein, it can be used to diagnose certain tumor diseases. In addition, the recombinant protein of GPNMB may also become a new target for the treatment of tumors, providing new ideas and methods for tumor treatment.
GPNMB recombinant protein can interact with other proteins, such as cell surface receptors such as integrin, and participate in cell signal transduction processes.
If the level of GPNMB recombinant protein is abnormal, the treatment may include the use of drugs or other special treatments, depending on the condition and the doctor's recommendation.
