Description : | Ras proteins are members of the superfamily of small GTP-binding proteins that function as molecular switches controlling a variety of signaling and transport pathways. The Ras family of GTP-binding proteins consists of the classical Ras (Ha-, K-, and N-), R-Ras, Rap1, Rap2, Ral, Rheb, Rin, Rit, TC21/R-Ras2, and M-Ras/R-Ras3 (M-Ras). TC21 is a Ras-like GTPase with high oncogenic potential that is found mutated in some human tumors and overexpressed in breast cancer cell lines. It binds physically to c-Raf-1 in a GTP-dependent manner. TC21 (Q72L) is a constitutive active mutant of TC21. |

Ask a questionMUC16 works with other mucins and immune components to maintain epithelial barrier function and immune responses.
It aids in forming the mucosal barrier, protecting against pathogens and mechanical damage.
Targeting MUC16 in cancer therapy, especially in ovarian cancer, could be effective in inhibiting tumor growth and spread.
Altered MUC16 activity can impact the body's defense against inflammation and infection.
MUC16, a mucin protein, is essential for maintaining the protective mucous layer on epithelial surfaces.
MUC16 is associated with cancer progression, particularly in ovarian cancer, where it may facilitate tumor growth and metastasis.
Genetic variations in MUC16 can lead to differences in mucosal integrity and potentially influence cancer susceptibility.
