BRIP1

  • Official Full Name

    BRCA1 Interacting Protein C-terminal Helicase 1

  • Overview

Fanconi anemia group J protein is a protein that in humans is encoded by the BRCA1-interacting protein 1 (BRIP1) gene. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the RecQ DEAH helicase family and interacts with the BRCT repeats of breast cancer, type 1 (BRCA1). The bound complex is important in the normal double-strand break repair function of breast cancer, type 1 (BRCA1). This gene may be a target of germline cancer-inducing mutations. This protein also appears to be important in ovarian cancer where it seems to act as an antioncogene

BRIP1 has several biochemical functions, for example, 4 iron, 4 sulfur cluster binding, ATP binding, ATP-dependent DNA helicase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by BRIP1 itself. We selected most functions BRIP1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with BRIP1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

BRIP1 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with BRIP1 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of BRIP1.
