Official Full Name
cannabinoid receptor 2 (macrophage)

Overview
The cannabinoid delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol is the principal psychoactive ingredient of marijuana. The proteins encoded by this gene and the cannabinoid receptor 1 (brain) (CNR1) gene have the characteristics of a guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G-protein)-coupled receptor for cannabinoids. They inhibit adenylate cyclase activity in a dose-dependent, stereoselective, and pertussis toxin-sensitive manner. These proteins have been found to be involved in the cannabinoid-induced CNS effects (including alterations in mood and cognition) experienced by users of marijuana. The cannabinoid receptors are members of family 1 of the G-protein-coupled receptors. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] -

CNR2 has several biochemical functions, for example, cannabinoid receptor activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CNR2 itself. We selected most functions CNR2 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CNR2. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

CNR2 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CNR2 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CNR2.
