  • Official Full Name
  • G protein-coupled receptor kinase 6
  • Background
  • G protein-coupled receptor kinase 6 (GRK6) is a widely expressed member of the AGC Ser/Thr protein kinase family and is comprised of an AGC-kinase C-terminal domain, a protein kinase domain, and a RGS domain. GRK6, like other GRKs, possesses unique activity against activated G protein-coupled receptors, which serves to regulate activation-dependent desensitization of the GPCR active forms. Studies have shown a critical role for GRK6 in the regulation of lymphocyte CXCR4 activity.
