KIF2C

  • Official Full Name

    kinesin family member 2C

  • Overview

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of kinesin-like protein family. Proteins of this family are microtubule-dependent molecular motors that transport organelles within cells and move chromosomes during cell division. This protein is important for anaphase chromosome segregation and may be required to coordinate the onset of sister centromere separation. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

KIF2C has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, ATPase activity, centromeric DNA binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KIF2C itself. We selected most functions KIF2C had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KIF2C. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
