KTN1

  • Official Full Name

    kinectin 1 (kinesin receptor)

  • Overview

This gene encodes an integral membrane protein that is a member of the kinectin protein family. The encoded protein is primarily localized to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. This protein binds kinesin and may be involved in intracellular organelle motility. This protein also binds translation elongation factor-delta and may be involved in may be involved in the assembly of the elongation factor-1 complex. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants of this gene.

KTN1 has several biochemical functions, for example, kinesin binding, poly(A) RNA binding, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by KTN1 itself. We selected most functions KTN1 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with KTN1. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
