MTHFR
-
Official Full Name
methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (NAD(P)H)
-
Overview
MTHFR catalyzes the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a co-substrate for homocysteine remethylation to methionine. Genetic variation in this gene influences susceptibility to occlusive vascular disease, neural tube defects, colon cancer and acute leukemia, and mutations in this gene are associated with methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase deficiency. -

MTHFR has several biochemical functions, for example, NADP binding, flavin adenine dinucleotide binding, methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (NAD(P)H) activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by MTHFR itself. We selected most functions MTHFR had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with MTHFR. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

MTHFR has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with MTHFR here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of MTHFR.
