SIX4

  • Official Full Name

    SIX homeobox 4

  • Overview

This gene encodes a member of the homeobox family, subfamily SIX. The drosophila homolog is a nuclear homeoprotein required for eye development. Studies in mouse show that this gene product functions as a transcription factor, and may have a role in the differentiation or maturation of neuronal cells.

SIX4 has several biochemical functions, for example, DNA binding, RNA polymerase II core promoter proximal region sequence-specific DNA binding, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by SIX4 itself. We selected most functions SIX4 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with SIX4. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

SIX4 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with SIX4 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of SIX4.
