TINAG

  • Official Full Name

    tubulointerstitial nephritis antigen

  • Overview

This gene encodes a glycoprotein that is restricted within the kidney to the basement membranes underlying the epithelium of Bowmans capsule and proximal and distal tubules. Autoantibodies against this protein are found in sera of patients with tubulointerstital nephritis, membranous nephropathy and anti-glomerular basement membrane nephritis. Ontogeny studies suggest that the expression of this antigen is developmentally regulated in a precise spatial and temporal pattern throughout nephrogenesis.

TINAG has several biochemical functions, for example, cysteine-type endopeptidase activity, nucleotide binding, polysaccharide binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TINAG itself. We selected most functions TINAG had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TINAG. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

TINAG has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with TINAG here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of TINAG.
