Official Full Name
xanthine dehydrogenase

Overview
Xanthine oxidase (XO (sometimes 'XAO'), a form of xanthine oxidoreductase that generates reactive oxygen species) is an enzyme that catalyzes the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and can further catalyze the oxidation of xanthine to uric acid. This enzyme plays an important role in the catabolism of purines in some species. -

XDH has several biochemical functions, for example, 2 iron, 2 sulfur cluster binding, electron carrier activity, flavin adenine dinucleotide binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by XDH itself. We selected most functions XDH had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with XDH. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

XDH has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with XDH here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of XDH.
