||MORF4L1, also knownas MRG15, belongs to the MRG family. This proteinis a componentof the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex which is involved intranscriptional activation of select genes principally by acetylation of nucleosomalhistones H4 and H2A. MORF4L1 is a transcription factor expressed in avariety of human tissues, and its orthologs have been found in many othereukaryotes which constitute the MRG protein family. The C-terminal part ofMRG15 forms a conserved MRG domain which is involved in interactions with thetumor suppressor protein retinoblastoma and a nucleoprotein.
