||Recombinant human PPCS protein, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, was expressed in E.coli and purified by using conventional chromatography (1-311aa).
||PPCS, also known as phosphopantothenate--cysteine ligase, catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), which is an essential universal pathway in prokaryotes andeukaryotes. PPCS, one of the last enzymes in thispathway, converts phosphopantothenate tophosphopantothenoylcysteine.
