Cat. No. : RETN-61H
Overview : Human Resistin Recombinant Protein was expressed in E. coli with amino acids Ser17-Pro108 accession number NP_065148.
Description : Resistin is a peptide hormone belonging to the RELM (Resistin-Like Molecule) family that also includes RELMα, RELMβ, and RELMγ. In mice, resistin is secreted in high levels by adipocytes, and overexpression has been linked to insulin resistance and obesity. The link between resistin and glucose metabolism in humans is still unclear, and it has instead been found to play a role in the inflammatory process. The main source of resistin in humans is peripheral blood monocytes, which upregulate expression in response to IL-6 and TNFα. Elevated levels of circulating resistin are associated with chronic inflammatory conditions and cardiovascular disease.
Source : E. coli
Species : Human
Predicted MolecularMass : 9.9 kDa
Formulation : Sterile liquid; phosphate buffered saline 1% BSA, pH 7.2. 0.22 um filtered.
Purity : > 97%, as determined by SDS-PAGE

Q&As (6)

Ask a question
How does the expression level of RETN correlate with insulin resistance? 11/03/2022

Expression level of RETN is associated with the development of insulin resistance. High levels of RETN can reduce insulin sensitivity, leading to decreased glycemic control, which promotes the development of insulin resistance.

What is the role of RETN in the treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease? 08/13/2022

Studies have shown that regulating the expression level of RETN can influence the development and treatment effect of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. For example, certain drugs can improve insulin sensitivity and control blood sugar levels by inhibiting the expression level of RETN.

How can the expression level of RETN be used for the prediction and diagnosis of diabetes and cardiovascular disease? 05/11/2022

Diabetes and cardiovascular disease can be predicted and diagnosed by measuring the expression level of RETN. For example, high levels of RETN may indicate a higher risk of disease and more severe disease conditions.

How to use mutation or abnormal expression of RETN for disease diagnosis and prognosis assessment? 12/21/2021

Mutations and expression levels of the RETN gene can be detected to aid in diagnosing disease and assessing prognosis. For example, certain mutations may predict a higher risk and a worse prognosis.

What diseases are mutations or abnormal expression of RETN associated with? 04/22/2020

Mutations or abnormal expression of RETN may be associated with a variety of diseases. For example, certain mutations can lead to abnormally elevated levels of their expression, increasing the risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, etc.

How does RETN relate to other biomarkers? 05/16/2019

RETN has some association with other biomarkers. For example, in obesity and cardiovascular disease, the expression level of RETN can be used to assess the prognosis and therapeutic effect of the disease together with biomarkers such as adiponectin and leptin.
