Description : ErbB3,also known as Her3 (human epidermal growth factor receptor 3), is a member of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) family of receptor tyrosine kinases. This membrane-bound glycoprotein has a neuregulin binding domain but has not an active kinase domain. It therefore can bind the ligand but cannot mediate the intracellular signal transduction through protein phosphorylation. However, it does form heterodimers with ErbB2 or other EGFR members responsible for tyrosine phosphorylation to give a receptor complex and initiate the related pathway, which lead to cell proliferation or differentiation. Overexpression of this protein has been reported in numerous cancers, including prostate, bladder, and breast tumors. This protein has different isoforms derived from alternative splicing variants, and among which, the secreted isoform lacking the intermembrane region modulates the activity of membrane-bound form.
Source : HEK293
Species : Human
Tag : His
Predicted N Terminal : Ser 20
Form : Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH7.4. Normally Mannitol or Trehalose are added as protectants before lyophilization.
Molecular Mass : ErbB-3 / HER3, Heavy Labeled is fused with polyhistidine tag at the C-terminus, and has a calculated MW of 71.5 kDa. The predicted N-terminus is Ser 20. DTT-reduced Protein migrates as 100-110 kDa in SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation.ErbB-3 / HER3, Heavy Lab

Ask a question
What are the potential side effects of targeting ERBB3 in cancer therapy? 03/08/2023

Potential side effects may include skin rash, diarrhea, and cardiovascular issues, as seen with other drugs targeting the EGFR family.

How does ERBB3 contribute to resistance to certain cancer therapies? 01/29/2023

ERBB3 activation has been associated with resistance to some targeted therapies, such as EGFR inhibitors, making it a challenging target in cancer treatment.

How does ERBB3 interact with other receptors in the EGFR family? 11/07/2022

ERBB3 can form heterodimers with other EGFR family members, such as EGFR and HER2, leading to the activation of downstream signaling pathways.

Can ERBB3 be used as a biomarker for prognosis in cancer patients? 10/26/2022

Yes, elevated ERBB3 expression has been linked to poor prognosis in certain cancers, serving as a potential biomarker for patient outcomes.

In which types of cancers is ERBB3 commonly overexpressed? 10/19/2020

ERBB3 overexpression is frequently observed in breast, ovarian, and gastric cancers, among others.
