Description : The encoded protein, a member of the tumor necrosis factor family, is a cytokine produced by lymphocytes. The protein is highly inducible, secreted, and forms heterotrimers with lymphotoxin-beta which anchor lymphotoxin-alpha to the cell surface. This protein also mediates a large variety of inflammatory, immunostimulatory, and antiviral responses, is involved in the formation of secondary lymphoid organs during development and plays a role in apoptosis. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to leprosy type 4 and psoriatic arthritis.
Conjugation : HIS
Biological activity : Bioactivity:The ED50 is determined by the Cytotoxicity Assay for Human TNF beta for dose-dependent cytolytic effects of serial dilutions of hTNF beta on the fibrosarcoma L-929 cells. The ED50 lies in the range of 1.0-1.6 ng/ml corresponding to 1.0-0.6 x106
Form : Lyophilised:Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in sterile water to a concentration of no less than 100 μg/ml. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Purity : >95% by SDS-PAGE
Storage buffer : Preservative: NoneConstituents: PBS, pH 7.2
Storage : The lyophilized protein is stable for a few weeks at room temperature, but best stored at -20°C.
Sequence Similarities : Belongs to the tumor necrosis factor family.
