Cat.No.:  EL-0411
Product Name:  C2C12 nuclear extract (Differentiated)
Description:  C2C12 nuclear extract (Differentiated) was prepared from subconfluent undifferentiated cell cultures of the mouse myoblast C2C12 cell line. Under appropriate conditions, such as androgen stimulation, these fibroblast cells can differentiate to a skeletal muscle phenotype, forming contractile myotubes and expressing characteristic skeletal muscle proteins. When treated with bone morphogenic protein 2 (BMP-2), these cells shift differentiation pathways from myoblastic to osteoblastic and are useful in studies examining BMP-mediated Smad signaling. Due to their differentiative potential, these cells are commonly used as cell models to study skeletal muscle and bone differentiation. In addition, these cells express TGFβ receptors. Therefore, these cells are also commonly used in studies related to the TGFβ signaling pathway.
