Description : | CD207 is a type IItransmembrane glycoprotein which is member K of the C type lectin domainfamily 4. CD207 is used as a marker for Langerhans cells (LCs) whichrepresent the immature dendritic cells in the epidermis. LCs uniquely containtennis racket shaped endosomal recycling compartment subdomains withpentalamellar membranes termed Birbeck granules. CD207 is necessary andsufficient for Birbeck granule formation. |
