|Description:||GUK1, also known as GMP kinase, belongs to the guanylate kinase family. This protein exists as a monomer and catalyzes the ATP-dependent conversion of GMP to GDP, thereby playing an essential role in the recycling of GMP. Via its catalytic activity, GUK1 participates in regulating the supply of guanine nucleotides including cGMP to signal transduction pathways. GUK1 is widely expressed. Overexpression of GUK1 is associated in pituitary adenomas. The enzymatic activity of the recombinant human GUK1 is measured using a phosphatase-coupled method.|
