CTSH
-
Official Full Name
cathepsin H
-
Overview
The protein encoded by this gene is a lysosomal cysteine proteinase important in the overall degradation of lysosomal proteins. It is composed of a dimer of disulfide-linked heavy and light chains, both produced from a single protein precursor. The encoded protein, which belongs to the peptidase C1 protein family, can act both as an aminopeptidase and as an endopeptidase. Increased expression of this gene has been correlated with malignant progression of prostate tumors. -

CTSH has several biochemical functions, for example, HLA-A specific activating MHC class I receptor activity, aminopeptidase activity, cysteine-type endopeptidase activator activity involved in apoptotic process. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by CTSH itself. We selected most functions CTSH had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with CTSH. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

CTSH has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with CTSH here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of CTSH.
