Official Full Name
EMD emerin
-
Overview
Emerin is a serine-rich nuclear membrane protein and a member of the nuclear lamina-associated protein family. It mediates membrane anchorage to the cytoskeleton. Dreifuss-Emery muscular dystrophy is an X-linked inherited degenerative myopathy resulting from mutation in the emerin gene. -

EMD has several biochemical functions, for example, actin binding, beta-tubulin binding, protein binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by EMD itself. We selected most functions EMD had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with EMD. You can find most of the proteins on our site.
