GMPS
-
Official Full Name
guanine monphosphate synthetase
-
Overview
In the de novo synthesis of purine nucleotides, IMP is the branch point metabolite at which point the pathway diverges to the synthesis of either guanine or adenine nucleotides. In the guanine nucleotide pathway, there are 2 enzymes involved in converting IMP to GMP, namely IMP dehydrogenase (IMPD1), which catalyzes the oxidation of IMP to XMP, and GMP synthetase, which catalyzes the amination of XMP to GMP. -
Synonyms
GMPS; guanine monphosphate synthetase; GMP synthase [glutamine-hydrolyzing]; GMP synthase; GMP synthetase; MLL/GMPS fusion protein; glutamine amidotransferase; guanosine 5-monophosphate synthase;

GMPS has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding, GMP synthase (glutamine-hydrolyzing) activity, GMP synthase activity. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by GMPS itself. We selected most functions GMPS had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with GMPS. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

GMPS has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with GMPS here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of GMPS.
