NFYB

Official Full Name
nuclear transcription factor Y, beta

Overview
Nuclear transcription factor Y subunit beta is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NFYB gene. The protein encoded by this gene is one subunit of a trimeric complex, forming a highly conserved transcription factor that binds with high specificity to CCAAT motifs in the promoter regions in a variety of genes. This gene product, subunit B, forms a tight dimer with the C subunit, a prerequisite for subunit A association. The resulting trimer binds to DNA with high specificity and affinity. Subunits B and C each contain a histone-like motif. Observation of the histone nature of these subunits is supported by two types of evidence; protein sequence alignments and experiments with mutants. -

NFYB has several biochemical functions, for example, DNA binding, protein binding, protein complex binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by NFYB itself. We selected most functions NFYB had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with NFYB. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

NFYB has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with NFYB here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of NFYB.
