NLRP4

  • Official Full Name

NLR family, pyrin domain containing 4

  • Overview

NALPs are cytoplasmic proteins that form a subfamily within the larger CATERPILLER protein family. Most short NALPs,;such as NALP4, have an N-terminal pyrin (MEFV; MIM 608107) domain (PYD), followed by a NACHT domain, a;NACHT-associated domain (NAD), and a C-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) region. The long NALP, NALP1 (MIM 606636),;also has a C-terminal extension containing a function to find domain (FIIND) and a caspase recruitment domain (CARD).;NALPs are implicated in the activation of proinflammatory caspases (e.g., CASP1; MIM 147678) via their involvement in;multiprotein complexes called inflammasomes (Tschopp et al., 2003 (PubMed 12563287)).

NLRP4 involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways NLRP4 participated on our site, such as Cytosolic sensors of pathogen-associated DNA, IRF3 mediated activation of type 1 IFN, IRF3-mediated induction of type I IFN, which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with NLRP4 were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.

NLRP4 has several biochemical functions, for example, ATP binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by NLRP4 itself. We selected most functions NLRP4 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with NLRP4. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

NLRP4 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with NLRP4 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of NLRP4.
