Official Full Name
osteoglycin

Overview
Osteoglycin(also Mimecan), encoded by the OGN gene is a human protein. This gene encodes a protein which induces ectopic bone formation in conjunction with transforming growth factor beta. This protein is a small proteoglycan which contains tandem leucine-rich repeats (LRR). The gene expresses three transcript variants. -

OGN has several biochemical functions, for example, NOT Roundabout binding, growth factor activity, heparin binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by OGN itself. We selected most functions OGN had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with OGN. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

OGN has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with OGN here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of OGN.
