PURB

  • Official Full Name

    purine-rich element binding protein B

  • Overview

This gene product is a sequence-specific, single-stranded DNA-binding protein. It binds preferentially to the single strand of the purine-rich element termed PUR, which is present at origins of replication and in gene flanking regions in a variety of eukaryotes from yeasts through humans. Thus, it is implicated in the control of both DNA replication and transcription. Deletion of this gene has been associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia.

PURB has several biochemical functions, for example, RNA polymerase II regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding, SMAD binding, mRNA binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by PURB itself. We selected most functions PURB had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with PURB. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

PURB has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with PURB here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of PURB.
