RAX

  • Official Full Name

retina and anterior neural fold homeobox

  • Overview

This gene encodes a homeobox-containing transcription factor that functions in eye development. The gene is expressed early in the eye primordia, and is required for retinal cell fate determination and also regulates stem cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene have been reported in patients with defects in ocular development, including microphthalmia, anophthalmia, and coloboma.
  • Synonyms

RAX involved in several pathways and played different roles in them. We selected most pathways RAX participated on our site, such as , which may be useful for your reference. Also, other proteins which involved in the same pathway with RAX were listed below. Creative BioMart supplied nearly all the proteins listed, you can search them on our site.

RAX has several biochemical functions, for example, RNA polymerase II core promoter proximal region sequence-specific DNA binding, transcriptional activator activity, RNA polymerase II core promoter proximal region sequence-specific binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by RAX itself. We selected most functions RAX had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with RAX. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

RAX has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with RAX here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of RAX.
