TRAF5
-
Official Full Name
TNF receptor-associated factor 5
-
Overview
The scaffold protein encoded by this gene is a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor (TRAF);protein family and contains a meprin and TRAF homology (MATH) domain, a RING-type zinc finger, and two TRAF-type zinc;fingers. TRAF proteins are associated with, and mediate signal transduction from members of the TNF receptor;superfamily. This protein is one of the components of a multiple protein complex which binds to tumor necrosis factor;(TNF) receptor cytoplasmic domains and mediates TNF-induced activation. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have;been characterized. -

TRAF5 has several biochemical functions, for example, protein binding, signal transducer activity, thioesterase binding. Some of the functions are cooperated with other proteins, some of the functions could acted by TRAF5 itself. We selected most functions TRAF5 had, and list some proteins which have the same functions with TRAF5. You can find most of the proteins on our site.

TRAF5 has direct interactions with proteins and molecules. Those interactions were detected by several methods such as yeast two hybrid, co-IP, pull-down and so on. We selected proteins and molecules interacted with TRAF5 here. Most of them are supplied by our site. Hope this information will be useful for your research of TRAF5.
