PNAS: Obese Hormones Increase the Risk of Sepsis

Scientists from the Gulbenkian de Ciência Institute (IGC) led by Luís Moita have discovered that a hormone believed to treat obesity reduces the body’s resistance to bacterial infections and increases the risk of sepsis.
