Product Overview :
In the pentose phosphate pathway, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) and 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6PGDH) sequentially catalyze NADPH production, which is closely related to cellular energy balance, growth rate, and viability. In addition, 6PGDH plays an important role in stress physiology.
6PGDH catalyzes the conversion of 6-phosphogluconate and NADP+ to NADPH. NADPH exhibits a characteristic absorbance peak, whereas NADP+ does not. Enzyme activity is calculated by measuring the increase in absorbance at 340 nm.
