Product Overview :
Significance: APX (EC 1.11.1.11) is an important antioxidant enzyme in plants for ROS scavenging and ascorbate metabolism. Isoenzymes are located in chloroplasts, cytoplasm, mitochondria, peroxisomes, glyoxysomes, thylakoid, and peroxisomal membranes. APX catalyzes H2O2 oxidation of AsA, directly affecting AsA levels. Under stress and recovery conditions, APX activity negatively correlates with AsA content.
Principle: APX activity is calculated by measuring the rate of AsA oxidation catalyzed by H2O2.
