Amyloid is an extracellular eosinophilic material composed mainly of proteins arranged in β-pleated sheet structures. Congo red staining remains the most classic and effective method for amyloid detection.
This kit contains Store’s Congo red solution and hematoxylin. Alkaline Congo red staining does not require differentiation but has a relatively short storage period.
