Feline Respiratory Dual Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (FHV-1 & FCV)

Product Overview :
Nucleic Acid Detection Kits for Cats
Description :
Feline Herpesvirus Type 1 (FHV-1) is a common viral infection in cats that primarily affects the respiratory system. It is highly contagious and can be transmitted through direct contact with an infected cat or their bodily fluids. FHV-1 can cause sneezing, nasal discharge, conjunctivitis (inflammation of the eyes), oral ulcers, coughing, fever, and loss of appetite. Infected cats may also show general symptoms like lethargy, depression, and dehydration. It is a lifelong infection, meaning once a cat is infected, it becomes a carrier and may experience periodic flare-ups, particularly during stressful events such as environmental changes. Some cats may be asymptomatic carriers, showing no signs of illness but still capable of infecting others.
Feline Calicivirus (FCV) is another common viral infection in cats. Symptoms may vary and include fever, sneezing, nasal discharge, oral ulcers, and lameness. Some cats may also experience decreased appetite, lethargy, or respiratory issues such as coughing or labored breathing. In severe cases, FCV can lead to pneumonia or other serious health complications. FCV is transmitted through direct contact or contaminated objects, and vaccination helps reduce infection risk.
