Description :
Feline respiratory pathogens refer to a group of viruses and bacteria that can cause respiratory infections in cats. Common pathogens include Feline calicivirus (FCV), Feline herpesvirus (FHV), Mycoplasma felis, Chlamydophila felis, and Bordetella bronchiseptica. These pathogens may lead to symptoms such as sneezing, coughing, nasal discharge, and eye infections. While some respiratory infections in cats are mild, they can become severe or even life-threatening, particularly in kittens or immunocompromised cats.
Applications :
• For the detection of nasopharyngeal, oropharyngeal, and conjunctival swabs from cats showing upper respiratory infection symptoms.
• Suitable for qualitative detection of Feline calicivirus, Feline herpesvirus, Mycoplasma felis, Chlamydophila felis, Bordetella bronchiseptica, and Feline 28S ribosomal DNA in feline swab specimens.
