Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate is an important intermediate in glycolysis and regulates multiple enzymes. It improves cellular energy metabolism and is widely used in clinical applications.
Aldolase catalyzes FDP cleavage into glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate and dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Triosephosphate isomerase and α-glycerophosphate dehydrogenase catalyze NADH oxidation, resulting in decreased absorbance at 340 nm. FDP content is calculated based on NADH consumption.
