Product Overview :
Glucose-6-phosphatase (G6Pase, EC 3.1.3.9) is widely distributed in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cells. It catalyzes the hydrolysis of glucose-6-phosphate to glucose during gluconeogenesis and plays a critical role in maintaining blood glucose homeostasis.
G6Pase catalyzes glucose-6-phosphate to glucose. Mutarotase and glucose dehydrogenase subsequently catalyze NAD+ reduction to NADH. The rate of NADH formation at 340 nm reflects G6Pase activity.
