Product Overview :

The Herovici staining method, introduced in 1963, distinguishes mature from immature collagen fibers. Similar to Masson trichrome staining, it uses a polychromatic dye system based on differential affinities related to collagen density. Low-molecular-weight red dyes preferentially bind dense, mature collagen, staining it pink to purplish red, whereas high-molecular-weight blue dyes preferentially bind loosely organized, immature collagen, staining it blue to blue-violet.
This kit contains Weigert’s iron hematoxylin and Herovici staining solution. Cell nuclei are stained blue to black, while erythrocytes and muscle fibers appear yellow due to included counterstains.
